This proprietary platform, called Genemaker™, allows the Company to synthesize any gene, any gene variant or any DNA sequence. As an early entrant in this gene synthesis market, Blue Heron Biotechnology is building a leadership position in that rapidly growing market from a sales base of ~ $2 million in 2002. TASCF invested in a bridge-to-a-Series-B round in exchange for preferred equity and a warrant incentive.
