Lipomics is already generating revenue from a new generation of products and services for diagnosing metabolic disorders, including diabetes, cardiovascular disease associated with menopause, and pathological side effects induced by drug treatments. The Company operates an analytical laboratory that produces proprietary "lipomic" data on 500 individual lipid metabolites from a small sample of blood or tissue. Lipomics leverages its analytical platform, database and knowledge of lipid metabolism to form partnerships with pharmaceutical, genomic and food companies to develop next-generation clinical diagnostics, to discover novel therapeutic targets, and to grow their lipid "metabolome" database. Lipomics recently signed a major partnership with GlaxoSmithKline. |
