GENOVICS, INC.
Portland, OR

Genovics was co-founded by TASCF and Manfred Baetscher, PhD, Director of the Transgenic Mouse Facility at Oregon Health & Sciences University, to stake an early claim on some very valuable IP and technology using the puffer fish genome and mouse molecular embryology as a functional readout system to identify and characterize genetic regulatory elements.  Regulatory elements are responsible for modulating the expression of genes, and are an overlooked and essential component of the genome.  Afer two years of work it was determined that the technology would not sustain an independent company.  A royalty sharing agreement is in place between TASCF and OHSU where the company was incubated.
