Dentigenix is bringing modern biology to dentistry. The practice of dentistry and its affiliated specialties has traditionally emphasized mechanics and materials science. Physical manipulation of both hard and soft tissue for restorative purposes has historically defined the field. Recent advances in regenerative sciences (i.e., cell biology, growth factors, biomimetics, stem cells and biomaterials) have tremendously accelerated research and development into the regeneration of skin, bone, liver, kidney, nerve and even cardiac muscle tissues. These advances have not yet been transferred to dentistry, creating the opportunity for Dentigenix. Dentigenix will roll out a series of products of increasing complexity, starting with disease-arresting solutions and dentin/pulp regenerative products, followed by enamel repair systems, gingival re-growth, and whole tooth regeneration and implantation. The Company was acquired by Ivoclar Vivadent A.G. in September 2003.
