AviGenics, the world leader in avian transgenesis, is engineering the poultry genome to utilize the hen oviduct as a natural bioreactor for high-volume production of a wide variety of pharmaceutically important proteins and intermediates in the eggs of transgenic chickens.  The Company's avain transgenesis platform is also used to improve poultry agronomic traits, such as disease resistance.

Since its founding in 1996, AviGenics has raised more than $22 million in venture capital, won two multi-year multi-million dollar ATP grants and has grown to more than 30 people.  TASCF was founded after AviGenics was started, but has acquired a position through the purchase of AviGenics shares in a private transaction.
